So I know we all love our grandparents... or at least we try to love our grandparents. But the simple fact is, that when you go over 80 some of the people in the world start turning pretty senile. So where am I going with this, you ask? Well, since I can't actually complain about these people in a fashion I want to, I'm going to complain about them on my personal blog. Old people are annoying. There I said it. Even this nice old lady (I'll call her Miss H) that my mother is good friend's with... even my mother who is one of the nicest people in the world has told me that there are times when Miss H goes totally on her nerves, because this sweet old lady won't stop complaining about how her son isn't like her husband at all. Or she'll get all upset if you leave the lights on when you watch tv with her... she'll nag at you until you turn them off. And the list goes on. I get it. They can't help it. But I think the only thing worse than an old lady who's senile is an old man who's bitter.
So today, I was shopping at a local supermarket that someone that I know from high school works at. He and I have always been friends, so we said hi and asked each other how we were. And in the middle of our friendly conversation of catching up on old times just a little, this old man buts in, calls my friend out for talking to me while he's still in uniform (even though he wasn't even on the clock--and told him so). Then he accused him of flirting with me while he was at work.
FOR THE FUCKING LOVE OF GOD. Is that all old men can think about? Can't a normal girl in her 20s have a normal conversation with a normal man also in his twenties, without being accused of having sexual motives? And then they go on and call the younger generation disrespectful. Just this once I will mention my true feelings on the matter.
I don't know why people turn into assholes when they get old, but they do. And I really, really, don't like old people.
